On 29th March, 1915, the 1st King’s Royal Rifle Corps battalion of 6 Brigade, 2nd Division moved into trenches at Cuinchy near La Bassée where they remained until relieved on 4th April. They were back in these same trenches from 7th-11th April and then again on 15th April. John Norriss died from wounds on 15th April, after having been sent to a base hospital in Rouen, but as yet there is no information as to when and where he was wounded.
